My Clinical Focus

A therapist's clinical focus or special interest indicates that they have chosen to specialize in a specific area, population, or approach within the field of counseling and psychotherapy. These specializations are obtained through additional training, experience, or a personal interest in a particular aspect of mental health or therapy. Therapists with a clinical focus or special interest may have extensive knowledge and experience with specific issues, populations (such as children, couples, or trauma survivors), or therapeutic modalities. This specialization enables them to provide more targeted and effective support to clients dealing with specific concerns related to their clinical focus.

Complex PTSD, Trauma and Dissociation

A traumatic incident or event can have a range of effects. When you have a series of stressful incidents, it might have long-term and adverse implications on your life. It has the potential to influence your feelings, thoughts, relationships, habits, attitudes, dreams, and hopes. Three primary factors can have an impact on how you react to distressing occurrences. Have you been directly or indirectly affected by a traumatic event, or have you been a witness to one? Do you frequently find yourself in situations where you may see painful or stressful events? Are you looking to do inner child work or parts work? Do you feel like you experienced dissociative symptoms? Have you experienced identity-based traumatic experiences?
