In the last six years, video counseling, formerly known as "telemedicine, telehealth, telecounseling" grown popular due to the flexibility in receiving medical and behavioral care across the internet. People may find it difficult to engage in therapy for a variety of reasons. This can range from schedule conflict, travel, fears/worries of speaking in-person, mobility and lifestyle activities that prevent you from attending in-person sessions.
The advancement in technology has made it possible to remove many barriers for receiving your mental health treatment. In fact, growing trend in the mental health service is the emergence of video counseling. Some studies have reflected that in-person sessions can be similar as effective as in-person sessions. In addition, HIPPA compliant software are utilized for video-to-video conferencing sessions.
FREE CONSULTATIONS: During this 15-20 min phone call you will be assessed for appropriateness for video counseling, focus on treatment goals, frequency of sessions and schedule ahead.
PAYMENT ACCEPTED: major credit cards, debit cards and cash payment. If you plan to use health insurance, some insurance plans offer video sessions, but be sure to check with your insurance plan for all information. If you choose to self-pay for session, a supply statement and/or super bill for HSA reimbursement plans. Please note not all insurance and or HSA plans reimburse and you should make contact with your insurance and/or HSA plan to ensure video sessions are reimbursable.
