Viergelyn has diverse experience working with individuals, couples and families in the Boston/North and South Shore area.  She has worked in various positions in outpatient, residential treatment for trauma, schools, In-home therapy, and community counseling settings as a licensed mental health counselor and crisis clinician. Viergelyn professionally focuses primarily on the use of traditional modalities integrating, mind-body interventions. Viergelyn has an interest in social justice, restorative justice, spiritual and healing arts, the aftermath dynamics of trauma and attachment ( within self, community, family at large), and post-traumatic healing/emergence.

 

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my professional philosophy is a person-centered, strength-based approach in counseling. In my clinical practice, I offer sacred creative space to explore your life challenges and grow.

 

Expressive Arts Therapy also known as a multimodal art therapy, Expressive Therapy uses creativity, creative expression approach to therapy. As an Expressive Arts Therapist I may incorporate creative writing/poetry, psychodrama/drama/movement, art-making, bibliotherapy and music within our sessions to encourage the in-depth self exploration and awareness of your therapeutic process. A person is not required to have "artistic" skills to incorporate the benefits of expressive arts therapy.
